Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about billing, settlements, or fees? Here are the facts.

Why does RhoBill charge a percentage rather than a monthly subscription?

Kenyan WISPs and hotspot operators face fluctuating seasonal subscriber counts. A fixed monthly fee of KES 15,000 to KES 30,000 penalizes growing networks and rural operators during low seasons. With our 2% withdrawal model, you only pay when you collect money and withdraw to your M-Pesa wallet. If you make KES 0 in a month, you pay KES 0.

Are there any upfront setup or installation fees?

No. RhoBill is 100% self-service. You create an account, paste the one-line bootstrap command into your MikroTik terminal via WinBox, and your network is live within 5 minutes at zero initial cost.

Are there limits on how many MikroTik routers or subscribers I can connect?

No limits. You can connect unlimited MikroTik routers (CCRs, RB series, hEX, hAP, CHR) and manage unlimited PPPoE and Hotspot voucher subscribers under one tenant account.

How do customer collections reach my M-Pesa account?

When subscribers pay via STK Push on the captive portal or send money to your registered C2B Paybill, funds settle instantly into your RhoBill tenant ledger. You can initiate an on-demand withdrawal to your personal phone number (B2C) or business Paybill (B2B) anytime. The minimum withdrawal is KES 50.00.

Are there hidden fees for SMS voucher printing or captive portal pages?

Zero hidden fees. Our thermal voucher generator (supporting 58mm and 80mm ESC/POS printers) is completely free, and captive portal traffic uses modern zero-SMS RFC 8908/8910 discovery so you never waste money on third-party SMS bulk credits.
